The TJC Apache Belles helped to turn Tyler pink on October 15, 2009 in honor of breast cancer awareness month.
The Apache Belles wore pink and made posters regarding breast cancer awareness and regular screenings, which were later hung in the Ornelas Health and Physical Education Center on the campus of Tyler Junior College. The effort was to salute women who are fighting the battle against breast cancer as well as to honor those who are survivors and to remember those who have lost the fight against this disease. Among these are many Apache Belle Gold members as well as family and friends of current and former Apache Belles.
